Snoring is one the top signs someone may have sleep apnea. While a partner’s report and answers to a survey questionnaire can screen patients they cannot be used to verify whether or not a person has or does not have sleep apnea or some other sleep disorder. Only a Sleep Test can verify this for sure.
If it has been determined by a sleep study that a patient does not have OSA and suffers only from Snoring (sound created by the airway vibrating), with a copy of the diagnosis and a prescription from the patient’s physician, a dentist may fabricate an oral appliance to prevent this annoying process.
